Pushprābhā

‘Pushpa’ means flower, and ‘Ābhā’ means glow or radiance. Together, Pushprābhā, the first half of Prākṛtikākṛti, speaks of the gentle light that blooms — a collection of lighting pieces inspired by the quiet grace of flora.

The collection draws from the delicate language of petals — their silhouettes, curves, and the softness with which they meet the air. I was drawn to lighting as a medium because of how closely it mirrors the nature of flowers — subtle, glowing, never still, always shifting.

Brass felt like the right material — warm, delicate, reflective, and grounded. It carries light in a way that feels natural, casting soft glows and shadows, much like sunlight filtering through leaves or petals. Over time, it patinates and changes — just like nature does. Pushprābhā isn’t about mimicking flowers, but about translating their presence — gentle, fleeting, and full of light.
